Barbara Spence creates modern jewellery that is elegant and feminine. The asymmetry and stylised geometric combinations will appeal to women who want to wear jewellery that reflects their own individuality.
She draws on her background in mathematics and physics for sources of inspiration, in particular the intertwining shapes found in astronomy. She likes to combine circles and spherical forms using the structure of my jewellery to create spacing or overlapping shapes. The finish is predominantly matt with gold plating, oxidisation or highly polished areas creating flashes of contrast. The architectural quality of the designs is softened by their asymmetry and the use of semi precious stones, which introduce colour and movement.
Barbara Spence will feature limited edition items as well as launch a new collection at Intrigue Emporium’s Summer Show.
You can shop their collections and meet them alongside 70 other independent designers and makers at our next event at Shoreditch town hall.
