Frances is a Scottish graduate from ‘The Cass’, London Metropolitan University. She enjoys using mixed media materials within her designs: Wool/ plant fibres/yarns/industrial felt/ metal, upcycling/ recycling and trying to be as ethical as possible.
Frances’ jewellery pieces and objects are inspired by Mud-larking visits to the Thames Foreshore, London. The items she finds on the foreshore could have once been someone’s belongings, they may have once treasured, it could be an item that was discarded, it may even be a piece of metal that has fallen into the River from an old worn structure or it may be as simple as a worn pebble.
Inspirations also come from the surrounding Docks/ Thames buildings and structures as well as the history of the River Thames. She also likes her pieces to be considerate to stimulating the wearers senses, something slightly unusual, a talking point and fun.
You can shop their collections and meet them alongside 70 other independent designers and makers at our next event at Shoreditch town hall.
