Featured Designer – Henriette Lofstrom

 Black Traingle collection

Her Danish heritage is apparent in this minimal yet strong aesthetic, & her design process reflects a great respect for the traditional values of the silversmith. With an emphasis on these skills and a high level of craftsmanship she designs and creates each prototype from her Hackney studio with the aid of patience, nice music and a strong set of eye glasses.

Production is kept in-house not only to ensure that the same exacting standards of quality and design are translated to each finished piece, but also due to the designer’s desire to produce sustainable and responsible fashion jewellery. Despite this emphasis on sustainability & traditional craftsmanship, Henriette Lofstrum jewellery has enjoyed great commercial success. Her statement and show pieces have been worn by the likes of Jessie J, Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, and Kylie Minogue amongst many others, & the brand has always sold in carefully selected stores. Read more

Each of my pieces are unique and I only ever make one of each design as I try to retain the uniqueness of each piece. My inspiration comes from my eastern roots and my travels across the globe. BMV pyramid ring copper catseye

The handworking of metal is of paramount importance to BMV Jewellery – everything is worked by Billie from aluminium, copper, brass, bronze and silver sheet, wire and tube, often recovered from scrap yards. Traditional metalsmithing techniques are used, and the material of construction is emphasised, its characteristics and supposed ‘flaws’ – the natural qualities of the metal – are celebrated.

These concerns; longevity, intrinsic value and explicit use of materials, form the nucleus of BMV Jewellery and inform all of Billie’s pieces. Load yourself with the Earth’s elements and make war on perfection! Read more

Using innovative techniques, structures and clasps, Katie creates jewellery with natural forms that loop and curve with architectural simplicity.

The work is strongly influenced by the exotic nature of botanical gardens. The unique pieces capture the ephemeral and natural in permanent structures formed from precious materials.
