Patricia has a background in music as a professional harpist, and has been turning for 8 years, and Gabor was an electrical engineer and has been turning for over 30 years. They started collaborating 6 years ago and most of their work is conceived as a partnership. They make turned and decorated wooden pieces which aim to express the beauty of the natural wood enhanced with colour, semiprecious stones, beads, inlaid exotic woods and pierced designs.

Their work is purely decorative and inspired by nature, using a myriad of leaves, flowers and trees which are pierced and carved unto thin turned bowls and platters.

Featured Designer: Anna P

Featured Designer: Anna P

anna p leather

Anna loves designing and making beautiful hand crafted accessories. Her interest in fashion started in Rome when her grand mother handed her fabric and pins to create her own dolls clothes. Coming from a family of creatives she considers it a natural choice to study fashion. After many years as a woman’s wear designer, creating ranges for the high street she became disillusioned with the whole process of mass production. She felt that to be a true designer you have to be able to design, cut the pattern and make the design.

She has always had a passion for leather and enrolled in a course at the London College of Fashion. She immediately began work experience at a renowned sample making studio. After three years of work experience she found herself a full time employee liaising and working on collections for designers such as Giles Deacon, Henry Holland and Mulberry.

Having learned so much about construction and pattern cutting she felt she needed to do her own thing, which is creating beautiful Eco Luxury handbags and headbands with a minimal carbon footprint many of which are one off pieces!

anna m earrings

Anna.M is contemporary jewellery designer based in London.

The aesthetics of Anna’s designs are about subtle organic shapes paired with modern elegance. She is fascinated by nature, and in particular the microflora and the beauty of small intricate organisms living in symbiotic clusters. Anna’s aim is to reveal the secret allure of micro and macroscopic landscapes and to translate them into jewellery. She uses a variety of pearls, precious and semi-precious stones to mirror the natural diversity of shapes and colours derived from her inspiration.

Anna experiments extensively with different techniques and materials to create innovative textures and forms. She is breaking traditions of stone setting. Instead of using the popular prong or bezel settings, She frames stones and pearls in metal compressed at great pressure. The result is slightly different each time, making each piece unique.

Mark’s work is inspired by his enthusiasm for graphic novels, science fiction and architecture. His pieces are either hand carved in wax using the lost wax casting method or prototyped using 3D modelling software. During this process he is able to create pieces of jewellery each with a unique sculptural quality.

Although fairly new to the industry after a career in media, Mark not only creates his own range but has also worked alongside fashion designers, creating dynamic catwalk ranges and bespoke one-off commissions.

lisa slinn ceramics

A Staffordshire based designer, Lisa Slinn has a passion for Illustration and Ceramics. In combining the two she has created a collection of work that shows her idiosyncratic illustrative style and her love of 19th Century British ceramics. Her dishes are highly decorative pieces of art that playfully fuse images found on traditional British tableware with contemporary ceramic design. The inspiration behind her work came after visiting the V and A for the first time this Spring and spending three days sketching their ‘Made in Industry ‘ tableware collections.

I became fascinated by the way 19th Century designers used gold lustre brushstrokes to create Renaissance inspired curly edges and floral motifs that we would now associate with china found in our great grandmas best cabinets. I played around with creating my own versions of ornate handles but painted them flat onto the surface so that they would look like they’d been placed on at the last minute. In complete contrast to the hours it would have taken hand painters back then. I mean for my pieces to have a fun feel and to reference Museum China ware but for them to also have a contemporary twist”.

Featured Brand: Yadaina Aisha Fine Jewellery

Yahida Aisha Jewellery Rings

Yadaina Aisha is a new independent label specialising in fine, luxury and exclusive jewellery. Designs ‘play with’ and draw a heavy inspiration from nature and possess an ‘exotic beauty’ through the use of a carefully selected wide-ranging colour palette. Coupled with a personal creative vision and a signature style, each design is carefully crafted, highly artistic and contains various elements of abstraction from the subject in focus.

Founded by Cass Jewellery & Silversmithing graduate Yadaina Watson in July 2014, the label strives to ‘deliver with a difference’ whilst maintaining and supporting ‘the handmade craft’. As a highly creative label, this is paramount, especially in today’s ‘saturated mass and machine-led’ jewellery market.

As a label that stands for a ‘hands-on’ approach to making, no two pieces are the same, ensuring authenticity.

The ethos of the label is ‘to encourage individuality’, ‘promote the fashion-focused individual’ and ‘embrace a unique sense of style’.
